If you have heard of David Gonzalez then you know how gnarly and phenomenal this kid is at skateboarding. If you haven't, no problem. Click the play button above and prepare to be amazed as Globe features him in a new clip promoting his signature shoe.
Globe has decided to let
David Gonzalez do the talking (or in this case skating) for their new marketing
effort. This is a very creative and innovative way for Globe to market their
newest shoe and is very appropriate seen as they are a skateboarding brand. David
Gonzalez the Columbian skateboarder at twenty-one years old last year was named
Thrasher’s (a skateboarding magazine) “skater of the year.” This definitely
helps Globe’s promotion of reaching more of their target audience because there
is so much hype around this skater right now. The video itself is very creative
and you really get a chance to see David show off his incredible skills that he
can do on a board. If Globe had a goal for a mind blowing campaign to try and
market their newest product, they definitely achieved their goal. In just the
first few clips of watching you see some incredible things. David performs some
crazy tricks and stunts as he rides around town. You're brain gets hooked on
how good this guy is and how fast he actually ends up going. Globe really
wanted to push and stress how wear and tear the shoe can be. Especially in such
a sport like skateboarding skaters can go through shoes in a matter of weeks or
even days because of how much strain they put on their shoes. Globe wanted to
prove that even through David Gonzalez’s skate sessions the shoe can hold up
well and be durable enough for skaters to use. His shoe "The Sabbath"
is in stores now at Globe.
